ABOUT US

A Brit by birth, since 2012 I have been living with my wife and children in Eshchar, a community village in the Misgav region of the Galilee near to Karmi'el.   I am fascinated by the rich history, geography and people of the area, and the ways in which they live in so many different types of settlement, from religiously and racially mixed towns and cities of Arab Muslims, Arab Christians, Druze and Jews to single-ethnicity towns, to gated communities comprising every type of eclectic group from artists to vegetarians, and every type of strand of Judaism.

The Galilee is a huge laboratory in civil society for ways of living and interacting within a beautiful, mountainous, green (for the middle east), rural and peaceful environment.

Join me as I discover the many unknown and often completely unmarked and undisturbed sites of natural, historical, biblical or archaeological interest.   Some will be very familiar, but others you will struggle to find even on Google.   Enjoy!

I am always happy to receive comments, suggestions and feedback:
