Well, having grabbed your attention – no, Karmiel is not a Christian city!
There are a lot of unknown, unmarked, small, unremarkable archaeological sites in and around Karmiel. You could look at them all in a day. So I had thought this would be a short blog post in time for Christmas, after I investigated and photographed some of them.
How wrong I was! It turns out that the emerging history of Byzantine monasticism in the western Galilee takes some researching.
